David McArthur is assistant professor of international business and strategy at Utah Valley University’s School of Business. He teaches international business, managing multinational firms, and business strategy. Previously he taught in 17 countries around the world and in the US at Loyola of New Orleans, Augusta State University, Auburn University, University of South Carolina, Coker College, and Brigham Young University. His research interests include how international firms move production technology within their international network of subsidiaries, how firms transfer knowledge across international and cultural boundaries, how managers deal with problems of implementing technology strategies, and the ways in which managers negotiate for support and resources in filling their subsidiaries’ roles within multinational enterprises. His research has been published in the Journal of Business Research, R&D Management, Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Business Inquiry. Dr. McArthur holds a PhD in international business and strategic management from the University of South Carolina, an MBA in finance and international business and an MA in international area studies (Asian Studies) from Brigham Young University, and a BS in marine engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy.
