Faculty Development Programs

 

RMCIBER Co-Sponsored

China: An Emerged Economic Powerhouse in the Global Economy

This program will take place January 3-15, 2010 for faculty to compare the dynamic growth of China’s two leading economic regions (the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta) and explore China’s transformation from a planned economy to a globally competitive market oriented economy. This faculty development program is hosted by UC Denver CIBER and co-sponsored by several other CIBERs including the RMCIBER.

 

India

A January program for business, foreign languages, and international studies faculty that will provide understanding and insights into various aspects of life and business in an emerging country and the fourth largest economy in the world. This faculty development program is hosted by the University of Connecticut and co-sponsored by several other CIBERs including RMCIBER. January 2010 dates to be determined.

 

Economies in Transition (Poland, Bulgaria, and Turkey)

A program for business faculty and faculty who teach foreign languages, international and non-business courses to enhance their knowledge in the political, economic, and business developments in Poland, Bulgaria and Turkey. This faculty development program is hosted by University of Pittsburgh and co-sponsored by other CIBERs including RMCIBER. The next program dates to be determined.

A directory of Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) programs offered by all Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) to enhance faculty members' abilities to teach issues and concepts of international business, compiled by Purdue University CIBER.

 

Other Faculty Development Programs

The University of Colorado Denver co-sponsors several programs as they want faculty members to gain valuable insight and knowledge. Past programs have gone to Costa Rica, Vietnam, Africa, Mercosur, and Western Europe.
